Ankstmusik Records are proud to announce the imminent release of a very special box set of material by legendary Peel favourites DATBLYGU .

'Wyau, Pyst and Libertino' , is , as the title suggests a re-release package containing all three of their classic albums on one double cd package .

This release also includes a massive 68 page lyric book containing the lyrics and translations for all 52 tracks . The english translations were done in 2004 by Datblygu mainman David R.Edwards especially for this release . Also included is a photo booklet spanning the band's career and it all comes in a full colour wraparound box sleeve .

This release is one of the most comprehensive releases attempted by ankst musik and the importance attatched to it represents the simple fact that the record label

(and many of the artists who have worked with ankst over sixteen years ) would not have existed were it not for these recordings and the inspirational work of this most special of groups .

From the first notes of 'Painting the ceiling with my brain', from 1988's 'Wyau' , which is a defiant Welsh language instrumental to the desparate , naked fury of 'Beer mat from Hell' from final album 'Libertino' in 1993 it was obvious that DATBLYGU were making radical musical statements and at the same time using the Welsh language in a modern, unique and powerful way. It is no real surprise to realise today that Datblygu's music and their legacy is still a singular one .It is their one-of-a-kind-ness and their wonderfully unique music and worldview that is celebrated with this release .......Hail Datblygu ! .
